Equilis and Acteeum Group joined forces for a new retail park in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Construction of the largest retail facility in the area is scheduled to begin in Q2 2023, with the opening scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. The European developer holds a 90% stake in the project.
The power centre in Gorzów Wielkopolski is the third retail project in Equilis’s portfolio in Poland, and third developed jointly with Acteeum. In previous years, both partners built and leased Galeria Chełm, which remains a staple of Equilis’s portfolio, as well as Galeria Andrychów. Its sale was one of the largest transactions on the Polish market in 2022.
The power centre in Gorzów Wielkopolski will be the largest shopping complex of its kind in the city and surrounding region. We have the ambition to push the sustainable ambitions of this project as far as possible. We want to provide the region’s residents with an exceptional shopping experience, in line with today’s reality,” said Xavier Pierlet, Chief Investment Officer of Equilis Europe.
The Leasing of the Center is progressing rapidly
Work on the Gorzów project has already reached advanced stages in both development and leasing. The retail park, with an area of more than 23,000 sqm GLA, has contracted tenants already with 60% of the units leased even before construction began. The entities that decided to open their businesses include large discount store Biedronka, Jula store, and the first Decathlon sports store in the region. More tenants have been finalizing arrangements already, so the shopping offer is sure to satisfy even the most demanding customers.
The Gorzów retail park will also provide customers with 750 parking spaces, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, relaxation, entertainment, game and children’s play areas.
Our previous projects in Chełm and Andrychów have shown how good and fruitful cooperation of our companies can be. Therefore, it is natural that together we take another ambitious challenge – a shopping center in the Power Center format in Gorzów Wielkopolski. We want our joint project to become the place of convenient and attractive shopping and to mark the landscape of Gorzów and nearby towns for good. explains Tomasz Szewczyk, Managing Partner Acteeum Central Europe.
