On December 3, 2019, Galeria Chełm – the first shopping center in Chełm, a joint venture of Acteeum and Equilis – was awarded the BREEAM Design Stage – VERY GOOD certificate. This prestigious certificate confirms the effectiveness of the project investors’ efforts to meet the highest ecological standards in the design and development of the Chełm shopping center, which is scheduled to open in Q1 next year.
As a result of a meticulous assessment of the Galeria Chełm development, experts from BRE Global, issuers of BREEAM certificates, gave Chełm project a noble VERY GOOD grade, awarding its Design Stage certificate. The BREEAM certification process has especially emphasized those features of Galeria Chełm focusing on energy, water, utilities and waste use optimization, confirming the far-reaching ecological efforts of the Chełm facility.

Apart from ecological features, the BREEAM certificate, highly appreciates the project management system at the planning and construction stages, as well as the implemented approach of harmonized use of the plot where Galeria Chełm is being developed.

Galeria Chełm on the area of 17.5 thousand sqm. will offer 55 commercial premises and over 550 parking spaces. The plot on which the new shopping center will be located at the junction of Lubelska and Rejowiecka streets (also constituting the Chełm beltway), in the major transportation hub of the city. The Galeria Chełm’s catchment area covers nearly 300,000 residents as well as the cross-border traffic with Ukraine and Belarus.
Among the tenants that will open their stores in Galeria Chełm are already such known brands as Lidl, CCC, SMYK, Rossmann, RTV Euro AGD, Martes Sport, Reserved, Sinsay, House, Cropp, home&you, DIVERSE, Pepco, Swiss, KiK, 4F, Ziaja, Esotique, Deichamann, Vision Express, Play, Orange, Komes money desk, Olimp and Deli Pizza restaurants or Księgarnie Świat Książki. The commercialization level had already, almost half a year before the grand opening, exceeded 95%.
